What is a shops policy if there till stops working?

Resolved Question

What is a shops policy if there till stops working?

Yesterday I was in Millies cookies and there till froze so they just said to me that I could have it for free, and they guy beside me said he would be back the next day to get his change. It was in a train station so it was obvious that I was going for a train, But I have been in WHSmith, also in the station, but they just waited untill the till was fixed, even though there was a huge line.

So what is a shops policy, anyone know?

It varies from store to store and from manager to manager.

If there is more than one till, they can transfer the line at the non-working till to the working till.
