Does anyone know anything about THE FAIRTRADE FOUNDATION?

Im trying to find out if there are reports of actual incidents where FAIRTRADE have scammed people into thinking that there products are actual manufactured in a fair way.
Or
Is FAIRTRADE actually do what they say to do on there website.
CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THIS?
OR HAVE ANY OPINIONS?

• The concept of fair trade has been around for over 40 years but formal labelling scheme didn't get off the ground until late 1980's.
  They never scammed people and they do what they say.
