Can my local authority look at my bank statements?

i have just applied for housing benefit and my council want to see my bank statements do I havew to let them?

If you want the benefit then you better let them see them.
If you don't then they will believe you have something to hide and you will not get the benefit.

• If you want housing benefit, you need to prove to the Council that you are eligible. If you don't show them bank statements, you won't get benefit.

• ıf you are applyıng for housıng benefıty then yes they have a rıte to look at your bank statments also they can request to see them at any tıme ın the future ıf you are claımıng from them ...
