Is this a good business money venture idea ?

Resolved Question

Is this a good business money venture idea ?

idea: Boxing promoter/talent spotter

aim: to go to the war torn parts of the world, and find promising young boys who I can groom into young powerful disciplined future boxing champions.

long term goal: to build a fearful impressionable boxing dynasty family that dominates the USA and Europe.

requirements: young impressionable lads from troubled regions of the middle east and other developing nations with poverty ridden cities.(Palestine, Iraq, Kurdistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Cambodia...) aged 11-15

basicaly I intend to help channel their anger, pain, hurt, and youth into something formidable and quite simply, un <beep< stoppable.

i intend to create a boxing dynasty that will rival the mexican boxing scene and also the philipines and US boxing scene.

Europe ...bows down nicely for me and my boxing family/dynasty. It just has to be that way.

I will wear a nice white hat, and suit and walk into the arena on a red carpet with a cuban cigar in my mouth clutching a diamond studded ivory cane (ivory obtained from an elephant who died naturaly. we are not barbaric sickos).

I intend to help these boys fulfi ltheir dreams and likewise, my long term goals of becoming the greatest boxing promoter/talent spotter ever.

I intend to monopolise the boxing scene. Its all mine. and it hurts you all so much , but what can we do ? i have found the next gen fighting machines !

so, i help young these young lads become millionaires by training them by the best nutrionalists, sports management teams and ultimately create a conveyer built of future dominant champions.

that area of the world , is an untapped region of blossoming talented young men who I'm convinced can excel in sport - especialy boxing, and I intend to groom them to become fearless supremely confident fighting machines.

they will be my little babies, my special apples.

and I shall bare the fruit of their success when they knock out americans and european men with imense ease and elegance in the ring !

it doesnt get sweeter than that does it ?

* puffs cigar *

is this a good business money venture idea ?

Additional Details

first i start with the middle east and work my way into the indo sub continent.

africas poorest nations and most troubled ones are on the agenda to find talent.

no latinos - sorry.

I want to single handedly , finish mexico/puerto rican/cuban...all central and sout hamerican boxing hopes.

I want to be remembered as the man who single handedly 'destroyed' south american boxing !

that, and I want to embarrass home grown American boxers at the MGM grand, las vegas nevada...with MY young impressionable fighting machines.

then I want to go on camera and smile at millions of viewers !

Resolved Question

Where do Electric and Gas companies get their product , For Uk?

How can they say , we supply all the electric, the other company buys it from us ie: Scottish hydro distributes and Scottish Power buys it from them .

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

It's all one big fiddle, most of our gas comes from Norway and Russia via Germany, and British Gas is selling it to other company's, North Sea Gas is sold of in the summer time to the EU, they store it and in the winter they sell it back to us at a higher rate, what a con.

Refund policy on Amazon.?

Resolved Question

Refund policy on Amazon.?

Hi. I bought a product of a user on Amazon and I would like to send it back. Before I bought, the user said they'd give refunds if the customer isn't happy with the product, which I'm really not. I went on Amazon and clicked on the user and it said they have not specified their refunds policy. What I want to know is do I send the package back and they then give me a refund, or they give me a refund and THEN I send the package. Or is that up to the user? Thanks.

LTD director of company question URGENT?

Resolved Question

LTD director of company question URGENT?

Hi

I am getting really stressed out and need some advice. I am director of a limited company and i own 50% shares. I want to leave the company for personal reasons but Just need some advice. My business partner has the wrong attitude and i just know that when he has bought me out he will run the company into the ground. He is wanting to take out a large loan and expand the company too quickly. All i wan to know is if he does this when i have left the company and sold all my shares will his bad debt effect me in any way. If the business ends up going bust will this effect my credit rating even though i am no longer part of it. Any help on this would be great.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Only when he has bought you out and decides to run the company into the ground, it becomes 'his' problem, prior to that, any liabilities the company has is 'both' your responsibilities.

There are currently no comments for this question.

Other Answers (3)

  • I would make sure that you have a purchase and sale agreement that you both sign stating the price, date and conditions of the purchase by your partner. One of the things you should have in it is a provision stating he assumes all liability for debts occurring after date of purchase. Also make sure that your name is off all accounts where you personally have liability as of the date of purchase. If there are any loans outstanding, you will need to work with the lender to get your name off the loan.

It might be best to talk to an attorney.
    Good Luck
  • It is nothing to do with you, if you're out and your name was taken off as a company director and sold your your shares, what your partner does to the company is his own business nothing to do with you, if he run the company to the ground like you said so be it, there is no responsibility what so over on you as long you're gone.
  • Make sure all documentation - Companies House/VAT/HMRC etc shows you no longer have an interest in the company - each website will show you how. Ensure you are removed from any Company Bank accounts. If remaining Director then scuppers the company you have no liability, lot of new but good trading companies make the same mistake, once set up a company needs at least 3 years to settle before even thinking about expansion. Good luck

Help with directors leaving a company?

Resolved Question

Help with directors leaving a company?

Hi

I just want to know what a director has to do to inform companies house that they are leaving a company. Is there a certain form they have to fill in? Also if a director leaves a company and sells all their shares are they then totally free of that company, for instance if the company was to go bust or get into serious debt would it go bad against the previous directors credit rating? I imagine that once all shares are sold and the director is no longer part of the company all his or her responsibilities are then void. I just want to know if I am right in thinking this.

Thanks

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

I've just answered a similar question to this - Companies House have all the documentation you need, make sure all others are informed if your name appears - VAT/HMRC/Bank accounts. Don't leave your name with any suppliers you may use (credit terms), make a formal letter stating when all the loose ends were tied up and when you ceased to be a Director. Good Luck

Help on closing a limited company?

Resolved Question

Help on closing a limited company?

Hi

I am looking for a bit of help with regards to what I need to do about shutting down my limited company. I will explain my situation below:

I am a director of a construction company that I started with my business partner in July 2009. We were both directors of the company but when we hit a bad patch he lost his nerve and sold his share of the company to me for £1. I became the sole director of the company but things didn't get any better. To cut a long story short I am now left with a company that is in debt, has no real assets and no money at all in the company account. I owe just short of £5000 to suppliers that are on account and I have red letters arriving everyday so I cannot order any stock, I am tied down to a 5 year contract with my landlord with a 3 year breaker for the company office and this contract had a surety clause, but worse of all we were paid £7500 in advance for a contract that there is now no way we will be able to start yet alone complete as we have had to use the money for other debts. My staffs have just been paid but I have had no other option but to lay them all off as I just wont be able to pay them at the end of the month. As stated my bank balance is completely empty and I must stress that the banks have helped me in now way whatsoever so I have no overdraft or credit facilities. My personal credit rating in rubbish and I own no personal assets. I have had to use every penny I could get my hands on to pay wages and I cant even afford to pay the national insurance contributions I took from the staffs wages. We have no jobs booked in and no contracts waiting to start other than the one we cant afford to start.

I would just like to know what I need to do to close down the limited company and what is going to happen to me personally. Would it be advisable for me to declare myself bankrupt or is that going too far? I would appreciate honest advice ONLY please. Oh and one last thing, I already know that it serves me right for buying the company share for £1 and I don't need anyone telling me that!!

Thanks in advance…

Additional Details

Sorry UK answers only please and I don't need to know how I can make millions through fake websites either thanks.

You must be careful here. It is a criminal offense to continue to run a ltd company if you are aware that it is insolvent, which I think you are. You can apply to Companies House to wind the company up.
Instead of declaring yourself as a bankrupt, you can go for an IVA using an approved accountancy company - less trouble for you. Good luck.

Where do I stand with work? On Maternity leave, but company been taken over!!?

Resolved Question

Where do I stand with work? On Maternity leave, but company been taken over!!?

I have just started my Maternity leave before christmas, but haven't had the baby yet - due in 6days. I am not due to go back until Sept, but in April the company I work for are leaving and another Company will be taking over. I work for the council, but we are contracted out to companies - which is changed every 4/5years. Due to this, I have just been informed that the department i work for will no longer exist and only some staff will be transferred to another company and others will be without a job. Where does this leave me?

Will the new company have to fulfill my maternity leave until the Sept or will they terminate my contract and not pay me after april. I have been informed there are meetings been held next month where we will be interviewed and asked what our roles are - where they will decide if that position is still available.

My main concern is that they will not fulfill my Maternity leave and what I will then be entitled to - as I am currently a single parent and money is very hard as it is.

All answers/advice welcome!!x

As Steve says, you should be covered by TUPE. Speak to your local CAB who are very good on this sort of thing. They'll help you ask the right questions to find out what your position is.

  • I believe all Council contracts are covered by TUPE .. if so, the new company must honor your Maternity Leave (however they CAN make you Redundant when your leave ends)

Talk to your Union Rep. (if you are not in a Union, and are considering going back to work, perhaps you should join one).

Sending an item back for refund on Amazon?

Resolved Question

Sending an item back for refund on Amazon?

First of all I asked this question before but all I got was spam! So I thought I'd try again.

I bought a product off of a user on Amazon. Having just received the item, I am unhappy and wish to return the item. The seller said before and after I received the item that they will issue me with a full refund once I've sent it back. Even though the seller has good feedback, including a positive comment about a full refund for one of his other customers, I'm still a bit cautious. Do Amazon have a compensatory policy for this? Should I send it back? Thanks.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Hi, I would send it back recorded delivery. I have had a look on the help page at Amazon and it appears to give you all the information you need there

  • Once they recieve the item they will credit your account. Send it certified mail if you want to be sure. Ive only returned to Amazon not to individual sellers but I believe it works the same. Contact amazon for more info, maybe you are insured if something happens.
  • Always be careful. I don't think that amazon takes responsibility for these things.

British gas have been demandind £1001 from us through there dept collection agency?

Resolved Question

British gas have been demandind £1001 from us through there dept collection agency?

they now admit we owe them nothing and they do not supply our gas, this has taken 3 weeks and maybe 4hrs on the phone,am i entitled to compensation?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Entitlement is a moot point. Whilst you think you may be entitled, they may think differently. You could write a letter asking for your phone call costs to be reimbursed and add a figure for the unnecessary aggravation you suffered. I imagine they will either ignore your letter or decline to oblige. You may then advise them that you will take the matter to the Small Claims Court if they do not cough within, say, 14 days. Then, if no joy, you will have to start the threatened action.
The ball is in your court, as they say. Do everything by recorded delivery, keep copies of ALL correspondence and be very polite as this will help you in court.

Other Answers (1)

  • If that doesn't cut any ice then you should pass the story to your local newspaper, local radio (they usually have a consumer help show) and then on to a programme like The One Show with Dom Littlewood.

British Gas don't need the poor publicity. However clearly something went amiss and if you write a good initial letter and are polite and not overly demanding you may well get £15 or so by way of an apology.

Is that the sort of compensation you are seeking? Is there any danger this has changed your credit rating? You can check with a link from Moneysupermarket but there is a charge (albeit it can be free for a short while).

Is there any statistical evidence that indicates that Ryanair has been more succesful in the current 12 months than British Airways?

I'm at a loss on how to get statistical information, that will support my claim that the low-cost airline has excelled in the recession, any help?

The bond valuation formula, what does the 1-1 stand for at the beginning how do you do this formula on a calc?

Im so stuck on this formula, can some please explain how to use the formula.

i really dont understand it

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters

What type of bonds are you talking about? There are many types and therefore different methods of calculation. In general, you need to take into account the coupon frequency, calculation method, rate (if not floating) and sometimes even a different period at maturity. In banks, these things are calculated by fairly complex computer programs and it can be quite time consuming to work it out on a calculator. I am not sure about the 1-1 that you refer to. I have not come across this in any bond formula that I have seen.

I have an electric card meter and i want it taken out.?

Resolved Question

I have an electric card meter and i want it taken out.?

the company said they will take it out but i have to pay £50 then they do a credit check and i have to pay by direct debit. i don't mind the credit check or paying by DD. Before i signed up with eon the rep said i could get the meter taken out with them. After i signed up eon then said i had to wait for 12 months before they would do it. Now the 12 months are up they are going to charge me to do this. I contacted them and said i would report them to Oftel and Watchdog, all they said was if Im not happy then move company's which i don't want to do. Can anyone help me with this, Im sick of large company's ripping off the little people

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters

Rep's lie .. all the time .. they will say anything to get you to 'sign up' to their company == Rep's get COMMISSION .. their wages depend on signing up lots of new customers ...

Approach another utility company and ask them about taking out the meter .. the time to negotiate (and get it in writing) is BEFORE you are 'sign up' to the deal .. once they have got you, they don't give a sh*t ..

Here's an example of the letter you write to the new company :-
"I agree to move my Electricity and Gas suppliers to yourself on Monthly DD, when you replace the card meter with a standard meter at no cost to myself"

Sounds to me as if you have clicked on to a false ebay scam site. I have bought things over the last 2 weeks without any problems.
Contact the seller and tell him you are having problems so they know you are not a waste of time!

Go back into eBay and start from basics without using any stored link etc (in case you are being scammed) by typing just ebay.co.uk and take it from there.

Firstly let your buyers know that there is a problem with PayPal so that they dont get annoyed with you, then contat PayPal customer services. If they cant help send your buyers a cheque or postal order instead.

  • Hopefully you've NOT clicked on a link from an email that told you to pay for the items you've won, as this could be a link to a false website created to harvest paypal/ebay account details!
